Mark & Diane Parsons are from Toronto, Canada and are missionaries in both Thailand and China with YWAM [Youth With A Mission]. They now have 3 children living with them - Joshua, Caleb, and Joseph. The Parsons were pastors in Canada with The Salvation Army before joining TACF. In 2003, they left Canada to train for the mission field in Honolulu - and in 2004, they began mission work in China. Ministry began with University students in the city of Wuhan and then out in a village in the middle of the country. After becoming involved with the poor of China God opened their eyes to the great need of being a vessels of His love to the Chinese people. In 2008, changes were taking place in China and many missionaries began to experience a closed door to continued service in China. Mark & Diane also were affected by these many changes when God called them to move their 'homebase' to Thailand. In May of that year, they set up operations in Chiang Mai in the north of Thailand. Here they saw firsthand the great idolatry and the children who were being caught up in many other evils.God had always had prompted Mark & Diane to open up their door to anyone who would come in and in 2009 a newborn baby from a hilltribe village was sent for love and protection. This baby, Caleb, came from the Lahu hilltribe and would stay for good. Then later in the year a second baby, Jospeh, came for shelter who would have otherwise died of malnutrition and neglect. Taking in both babies has led to a new direction for the Parsons family - as they operate their home for these little ones who would have otherwise fallen through the cracks. As well, in June of 2009, the Parsons family went back into China for a one month journey to visit those new converts of theirs who were left behind when they moved to Thailand. Many more trips into China are being planned.During the years spent in China from 2004 to 2008, many opportunities came to share about the Lord Jesus to the Chinese people and much fruit came. The Parsons see their call to continue to go in and out of China from Thailand their homebase. Also, their call now includes the many tribal peoples who live in China and in Thailand like the Lahu people. The Parsons believe in 'family ministry' and to minister as a family. They see themselves as 'long-termers' to this part of Asia and bringing God's love to the lost.
